ORDER
The instant writ petition has been filed challenging the order of suspension dated 04.04.2025 and seeking a direction to the respondents to reinstate the petitioner into service.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was placed under suspension on 04.04.2025 based on an allegation that his community certificate is fake. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner's actual community is not in dispute, as he belongs to the Katunayakkan Community. The issue raised by the respondents pertains only to the place where the certificate was secured and not the petitioner's Page No.2 of 5
community itself.
3. However, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that they are contemplating disciplinary proceedings. Taking into consideration the seriousness of the issue, this Court do not find any public interest to interfere with the suspension, which is reasonable. Hence, this Court does not find any merit in the petition.
4. Nevertheless, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to conclude the disciplinary proceedings within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and if the petitioner wishes to request a change of headquarters, the petitioner is at liberty to file an application before the concerned authorities.
