The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 147, 148, 324, 506(ii) @ 147, 148, 506(ii) and 307 IPC in Crime No.99 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. There are totally eleven accused in this case, in which the petitioner is arrayed as A1. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant lodged a complaint before the respondent police alleging that on 16.08.2022, when the defacto complainant and his associates were waiting in Ekattor Railway Station for their friend, at that time the petitioner along with other accused persons attacked the defacto complainant and his associates with stones and knife. Due to which, the defacto complainant sustained grievous injuries on head. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the

prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner along with other accused persons attacked the defacto complainant with knife on his head, due to which he sustained grievous injuries. He would further submit that the injured is still taking treatment in the hospital. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. In view of the above submissions, it is evident that the petitioner has committed a serious offence, as such the victim sustained grievous injuries on his head. Therefore, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 26.08.2022 Anu
