No.A-34012/3E-5/PEA/2025 issued by the fifth respondent for recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (Male) India Reserve Battalion, Government of Puducherry, quash the same as arbitrary and illegal and consequently direct the respondents to expeditiously finalize and notify the proposed amendment to the Recruitment Rules for the Post of Sub-Inspector of Police reducing the qualifying service for promotion from ten years to six years as recommended in the department of personnel and Training Office memorandum No.AB-14017/4/2021-Estt.
(RR) dated 20.09.2022 and to consider the petitioners for promotion to the post of sub-Inspector of Police against the available promotional vacancies in accordance with the amended Recruitment Rules with all attendant and consequential service benefits.
