The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 16.06.2022 for the offences punishable under Sections 9(l), 9(n) read with Section 506(i) of IPC in Crime No.15 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. On perusal of the statement of the victim girl recorded under Section 164 of Cr.P.C. revealed that the petitioner is the step-father of the victim minor girl aged about 15 years. The petitioner used to sexually assault the victim minor girl by touching her private parts and also attempted to commit penetrative sexual assault on her.

3. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner, which is serious and heinous as against the victim girl, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
