O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to investigate and file a final report in Crime No.157 of 2014 pending on the file of the respondent police within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

2. On the complaint lodged by the petitioner/de facto complainant, the respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.157 of 2014 on 03.07.2014 under Sections 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B IPC.

While so, the petitioner/de facto complainant is before this Court with the above prayer.

3. Today, Mr.P.K.John, Inspector of Police, Bhavanisagar Police Station, Erode, is present. He has filed a status report dated 03.08.2018, wherein, in Para 7, he has stated as follows : " 7. I submit that I have taken up this case for further investigation and I have to do the following:

(i)To collect the Original copy of forged Legal Heirship Certificate from the concerned authority and the same has to be verified with Tahsildar, Mettupalayam and sent to Forensic laboratory for Hand Writing Expert Opinion.

(ii)To collect the Revenue records from the office of the Tahsildar, Sathiyamangalam.

(iii) To examine some more witnesses.

Hence, for the above said reasons, the investigation or this case is pending."

4. On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that if six months is granted, the police will complete the investigation.

5. Recording the same, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.157 of 2014 within six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and either file a closure report or a charge sheet, as the case may be, under due intimation to the petitioner/de facto complainant, provided there is no legal impediment.
