ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed for a direction to first respondent to dispose of petitioner's application dated 04.05.2026 for grant of Certificate of Recognition for a period of 20 years (01.6.2028 to 31.05.2048) for classes LKG to V std. in Green Park Nursery and Primary School, UDISE No.33082102910, Ammapet, Salem District, based on the recommendation of second respondent vide his proceedings Na.Ka. No.373/A2/2026 dated June 2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Petitioner is a private school governed by the Tamil Nadu Private Schools (Regulation) Act, 2018 and the Rules framed thereunder. The school is running under Green Park Kalvi Matrum Thondu Arakkattalai and holds a valid certificate of recognition for classes LKG to V std., till 31.05.2028. Amendment to Tamil Nadu Private Schools (Regulation) Rules, 2023 has enabled grant of certificate of recognition for a period of up to 20 years under Rule 8 of the said Rules. Petitioner filed an application dated 04.05.2026 for grant of certificate of recognition for a period of 20 years (01.06.2028 to 31.05.2048) before second respondent and second respondent, after due examination has forwarded the said application to first respondent, recommending grant of recognition for 20 years. The said application is still pending.
3. At the outset, it was submitted by learned State Counsel for respondents 1 and 2 that they would consider petitioner's application dated 04.05.2026 and pass appropriate orders, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner.
4. In view thereof, there shall be a direction to first respondent, to consider petitioner's application dated 04.05.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner, within a period of ten weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case.
5. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
