O R D E R

This Review Petition is filed seeking to review the order passed on 30.11.2017 in W.P.No.26779 of 2017. 2.The learned Senior Counsel Mr.B.Kumar appearing for the petitioner submitted that though, this petition is styled as review petition, in effect, it is nothing but seeking for modification of the order passed in the writ petition, since, the petitioner has already made an application and also paid the necessary fees for resuming his Indian Citizenship, there is no necessity for the petitioner to make one more application, as observed in the order made in the writ petition.

3.He further submitted that the petitioner once again paid a sum of Rs.7,000/- for registration of declaration of intention to resume Indian Citizenship and Rs.1000/- for administering the oath of allegiance on 12.12.2017, before the Consulate General of India, New York. Therefore, he submitted that the respondent herein may be directed to consider the application already filed by the petitioner along with the fees now paid on 12.12.2017 instead of requiring the petitioner to file one more application.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner's application is already there and based on the fees now paid, the respondent will consider the said application.

5.Considering the above stated facts and circumstances and considering the fact that the petitioner has paid a sum of Rs.7000/- for registration of declaration of intention to resume Indian Citizenship and 1000/- for administering the oath of allegiance on 12.12.2017 before the Consulate General of India, New York, as it is evident from the communication issued by the Consulate General of India to the Under Secretary (Citizenship), Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, this Review Petition is disposed of by modifying the earlier order passed on 30.11.2017 and by directing the respondent to consider the application already filed by the petitioner along with the fees now paid by him on 12.12.2017 and pass orders as expeditiously as possible.

It is once again reiterated that this Court is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner as it is for the respondent to consider and decide on its own merits and in accordance with law.
