directing the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount of Rs.35,129/- payable as wages towards 60 days of earned leave surrendered by him, while he was in service as admitted by the respondent in their RTI, together with 15% interest from the date of his retirement.
WP No. 23333 of 2025 PRAYER directing the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount of Rs.16,061/- payable as wages towards 30 days of earned leave surrendered by him, while he was in service as admitted by the respondent in their RTI together with 15% interest from the date of this retirement.
WP No. 23345 of 2025 PRAYER directing the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount of Rs.24,581/- payable towards the encashment of 45 days of earned leave, surrendered by her husband in the years before his retirement as admitted by the respondent either based on his monthly wages of respective months of surrender of those earned leave, together with 18% interest p.a from the respective due dates or based on the monthly wages payable on the month of petitioners husband retirement. WP No. 23352 of 2025 PRAYER directing the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount of Rs. 9,648/- payable as wages towards 21 days of earned leave surrendered by him while he was in service as admitted by the respondent in their RTI together with 15% interest from the date of this retirement and pay him a sum of Rs.18,500/- towards the STERBS (State Transport Employees Retirement Benefits Scheme) which was deducted from his salary for every month while he was in service together with interest at the rate of 12% per annum.

payable as wages towards 60 days of earned leave surrendered by him, while he was in service as admitted by the respondent in their RTI together with 15% interest from the date of this retirement and pay him a sum of Rs.18,500/- towards the STERBS (State Transport Employees Retirement Benefit Scheme) which was deducted from his salary for every month while he was in service together with the interest at the rate of 12% per annum. Mr.Murali Vinodth, S.C., In All WPs COMMON ORDER The writ petitions have been filed by the petitioners, who are former employees of the respondent-Transport Corporation, with a common prayer to direct the respondent to settle the retirement benefits, such as earned leave surrendered amount, which has been admitted by the respondent in response to their Right to Information (RTI) requests. Consequently, the petitioners seek for a direction to pay interest on the said amount from the date of their retirement. Furthermore, the petitioners also pray for refund of the deducted amount of State Transport Employees Retirement Benefit Scheme (STERBS), which was deducted from their salaries every month while they were in service. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners joined the service of the respondent-Corporation and served up to their respective dates of retirement. However, the respondent has not yet settled the terminal and retirement benefits to the petitioners, despite their retirement from service a considerable time ago. In this regard, each of the petitioners has individually sent representations on 27.01.2025 and 18.01.2025 to the respondent, and these representations are yet to be considered by them.
3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-Transport Corporation would fairly submit that the petitioners representations will be considered with utmost sensitivity.
4. In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the writ petitions, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to consider the petitioners representations individually within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, based on its own merits and in Page No.4 of 6
accordance with law.
5. With the above directions, this Writ Petitions stand disposed of. No costs.
