ORDER

This application has been filed under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking for extension of time for completion of arbitration proceedings.

2. Notice was ordered to the respondent, however, the same 1/4

was returned. This Court, by order dated 26.09.2025, directed the applicant to effect service through paper publication. Accordingly, the paper publication has been effected and affidavit of service has also been filed today. The name of the respondent has also been printed in the cause list. There is no appearance either in person or through counsel.

3. This Court heard the applicant, who appeared in person and carefully gone through the materials available on record.

4. This Court, by order dated 10.02.2020 made in O.P.No.585 of 2015, appointed the sole Arbitrator. Due to intervention of Covid pandemic, the proceedings were not able to be conducted. In the mean time, the Arbitrator was unwell and he was not able to take up the reference. He, therefore, informed the applicant through e-mail dated 01.12.2022, to seek for substitution of an Arbitrator. The applicant, on receipt of the e-mail, informed the learned Arbitrator that he will wait for recovery of the health condition of the Arbitrator and to conduct the proceedings.

5. The learned sole Arbitrator, by e-mail dated 20.07.2023, 2/4

informed the applicant that his health condition has improved and requested the applicant to get extension of time. Accordingly, the present application came to be filed on 24.07.2023.

6. Taking into consideration of facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, time is extended for completion of arbitration proceedings by one year from today. Accordingly, this application is disposed of. 10.10.2025 gm N.ANAND VENKATESH, J.
