ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard learned counsel appearing for the parties.
2. We have perused the status report filed by the District Collectors of Erode and Salem Districts.
3. In the district of Erode, the entire balance amount of compensation has been disbursed. Learned counsel for the petitioner also does not dispute the same.
4. As far as the distribution of balance amount of compensation in Salem District is concerned, it is stated that except one victim viz., Tmt.Velammal, daughter of Ponnappa, compensation has been released to all other victims. This factual statement is also not disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
5. As Tmt.Elammal died on 13.07.2025 leaving no known legal heir, for the purpose of distribution of compensation, it is directed that upon production of succession certificate by any one who claims to be the legal heir of the deceased Tmt.Ellammal, the District Collector shall distribute the compensation.
6. The writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, WMP Nos.23404 and 23407 of 2024 are closed.
7. Mr.Sankarasubbu, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent, submits that WP No.26156 of 2022 pending before the learned Single Bench has been disposed of on 05.11.2025, considering the fact that the subject issue has been pending before this Court.
8. As the issue with regard to distribution of payment of compensation has been decided by this Court, no further orders are required to be passed.
9. In case the petitioner has any other grievance which was subject matter of writ petition before the learned Single Bench, which has not been addressed by this Court, the petitioner would be at liberty to file a fresh petition in respect of those grievances.
