ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition to direct the respondents to accord Police protection to the petitioner's life and property at the time of fencing the petitioner's land in Old S.No.337/1, New S.No.337/4B, Veeranathur Village, RK Pettai Taluk, Tiruvallur District, as sought, vide representation dated 09.05.2025.

2. The petitioner is an agriculturist and in lawful occupation and possession of the property stated above. This Court, on 20.02.2007, in Writ Appeal No.3708 of 2022, directed the Collector therein and other Revenue officials, to consider the request for issuance of Patta and directed that possession shall not be disturbed till the issue regarding the issuance of the Patta attains finality. The proceedings for issuance of the Patta is pending consideration before the Revenue Officials. The cattle and other animals are spoiling the crops and agricultural fields and the petitioner is constrained to fence the property to protect the land. When the land was sought to be fenced, certain anti-social elements attempted to obstruct and cause damage to life and property and thwart the fencing of the property and caused threat 2 / 5

to fence the property. Hence, the petitioner sought for Police protection from the respondents at the time of fencing of the above property, vide representation, lastly dated 09.05.2025, which had not been considered, paving the way to file the present Writ Petition.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the above facts, the respondents are directed to consider the said representation of the petitioner, dated 09.05.2025, after giving notice to the petitioner and also the rival claimants shown in the said representation and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a reasonable time.

5. With the above observations and direction, this Writ Petition is dispsoed of.
