This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 01.04.2024, wherein, the petitioner has requested for grant of promotion to the post of Yard Masthri.
2.The grievance of the petitioner is that he was appointed by the 3rd respondent in the year 2001 on compassionate grounds and the petitioner was not granted any promotion thereafter. Persons who joined along with the petitioner were granted promotion to the post of Yard Masthri. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 01.04.2024 to the respondents to promote the petitioner to the post of Yard Masthri. Since the same did not evoke any 2/6
response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.
3.Heard Mr.V.R.Appaswamee, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.V.P.R.Elamparithi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.
4.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the representation made by the petitioner on 01.04.2024 has already been considered and a response will be made to the petitioner by the 3rd respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 5.In the light of the above submission, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to respond to the representation made by the petitioner on the request made by the petitioner for promotion to the post of Yard Masthri, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 3/6
