PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation of petitioner dated 05.07.2023 in Survey No.586 in Korattur Village, Ambattur Taluk with an extent of 526 Sq.ft to grant patta. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the 1st respondent to consider his representation dated 05.07.2023 seeking issue of patta in respect of land situate in Survey No.586 in Korattur Village, Ambattur Taluk.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has been in enjoyment of the above mentioned property for fifteen years and on the strength of the long 2/6

possession, he submitted a representation to the 1st respondent seeking issue of patta. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader and Mr.E.C.Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel who are taking notice for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 05.07.2023 will be considered on its own merit within the time fixed by this Court.

4. In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to direct the 1st respondent to forward the representation of the petitioner to the 5th respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The 5th respondent shall consider the same on its own merit and pass final orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the representation forwarded by the 1st respondent. 3/6

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
