The petitioner who was arrested and remanded on 12.12.2019 for the offence under Section 8(c) r/w. Sections 20(b)(ii), 22, 28, 29 and Section 9A r/w. Section 25A of the NDPS Act and punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B), 22(c) 28, 29 and Section 9A r/w. Section 25A of the same Act in C.C.No.66 of 2020 on the file of I Additional Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under NDPS Act, Chennai, seeks bail. 2.The learned appearing for the petitioner submitted that since the petitioner is in prison from 12.12.2019, this Court, without going into the merits of the case may issue direction to the I Additional Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under NDPS Act, Chennai, to conclude the trial in C.C.No.66 of 2020, within a reasonable time frame.

3.The learned Special Public Prosecutor for NCB Cases appearing for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the trial in C.C.No.66 of 2020 would be concluded expeditiously within a period of nine months.
