On the complaint lodged by the petitioner that his son assaulted him, the respondent Police registered a case in Crime No.318 of 2018 on 22.06.2018 under Section 323 IPC against Bharathiraja (son of the petitioner). Under such circumstances, the petitioner has filed the present petition. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3.Taking into consideration the nature of allegations in the FIR, this court directs the respondent Police to complete the investigation in Crime No.318 of 2018 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and either file a Closure Report or a Charge Sheet as the case may be under due intimation to the de facto complainant, provided there is no any legal impediment.
