ORDER

[made by M.SUNDAR, J.] Writ petitioner seeks patta vide a representation dated 23.05.2025 [hereinafter 'said representation' for the sake of convenience and clarity] on the basis of G.O.Ms.No.97, Revenue and Disaster Management [LD-1)] Department dated 21.02.2025. Complaining of inaction qua said representation, captioned 'writ petition' [hereinafter 'WP' for the sake of brevity] has been filed with a mandamus prayer.

Issue notice to respondents.

Mr. K. Suresh, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice for all the four respondents and submits, on instructions, that the writ petitioner comes across as a person who is not eligible for patta as sought by him.

We refrain from expressing any opinion on the aforesaid submission as we leave it open to the respondent concerned to make Page Nos.2/6

an order in writing on merits and in accordance with law and serve the same on the writ petitioner.

The question of whether G.O.Ms.No.97 adverted to supra is now in vogue is also left open.

Learned State counsel submits that an order on writ petitioner's said representation will be made one way or the other within twelve weeks from today, i.e., on or before 06.10.2025. 8.

Considering the limited scope of the relief sought by the writ petitioner, with the consent of learned counsel on both sides, captioned WP was taken up for hearing in the Admission Board i.e., Motion List.

We are of the considered view that recording the stated position of the learned State counsel would suffice to give a closure to the captioned WP. We do so.

Captioned WP stands disposed of as closed in the aforesaid manner. There shall be no order as to costs.
