Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Habeas Corpus, to call for entire records, relating to the petitioner's son, detention under Tamil Nadu Act, 14 of 1982, vide detention order, dated 17.11.2016, on the file of the second respondent herein made in proceedings No.1164/BCDFGISSSV/2016, and to quash the same as illegal, and consequently, to direct the respondents to produce the said petitioner's son, namely Chella @ Selvakumar, son of Kuppusamy, aged 25 years before this Court and to set the petitioner's son at liberty, who is now detained at Central Prision - II, Puzhal, Chennai - 600 066. Today, when the matter was taken up, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has brought to our notice that the State Government passed orders, vide G.O.Rt.No.6413, Home Prohibition and Excise (X) Department, dated 22.12.2016, we evoking the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

order of preventive detention, passed on 17.11.2016, and in that view of the matter, the cause in this Writ Petition does not survive. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed as infructuous.
