ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the impugned order dated 06.07.2023 in Application Number 200025660523107 issued by 2nd respondent and quash the same and consequently, direct the respondents to effect the electricity connection to my dwelling house in Selliyam Palayam West, Kattukottai, Rayappanur Village, Chinnasalem Taluk, Kallakurichi District within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.
2. Mrs.Daniel Mary, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this petition is taken up for final disposal. Page No.2 of 6

The case of the petitioner is that, he made an application vide Application No.200025660523107 before the 2nd respondent on 11.05.2023 along with all relevant documents seeking electricity connection for his house and he had paid a sum of Rs.5,086/- before the 2nd respondent on the same day. However, the said application was cancelled by the 2nd respondent vide impugned order dated 06.07.2023 on the ground that the estimate amount of Rs.13,490/- was not paid by the petitioner. Challenging the same, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition before this court.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, though the petitioner was ready to pay the estimate amount which was calculated by the 2nd respondent, however, the 2nd respondent has not permitted the petitioner to pay the said amount and give electricity connection to the petitioner's house. Hence, he submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court permits the petitioner to file a fresh application along with Rs.13,490/- or any other amount demanded by the respondents and if such application is filed along with the necessary amount, the 2nd respondent may be directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

5. On the above contentions, heard the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court, without interfering with the impugned order, directs the petitioner to file a fresh application along with Rs.13,490/- or any other amount demanded by the respondents before the 2nd respondent, within a period of two weeks (2) from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and if such application is filed along with the necessary amount, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks (4) thereafter.
