ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.C.Prabakaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, for the respondents.

2. The learned State Government Pleader submits that by the end of December, 2023, the encroachments would be removed.

3. It is submitted that the Highways officials have issued notices to encroachers in a phased manner and evicted all the temporary encroachments from KM 0/0 (Sago Serve Bus Stop to Solompallam and from KM 4/2-5/2 (Siddanur to Majra Kollapatty). On the remaining stretch of the road, certain shortcomings in demarcation were found. However, the same has been rectified and the officials have issued notice to the encroachers on 21.10.2023, 25.10.2023 and 30.10.2023 and the eviction process is going on and the entire encroachments would be evicted by the end of December, 2023.

4. The said statement is accepted as an undertaking to the court.

5. In view of the above, the contempt petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
