ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, as well as the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents.

The above Writ Petitions have been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to direct the respondents to absorb the petitioners, as Helpers, in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Generation and Distribution Corporation, based on their apprenticeship training in the Board, by considering their representations, dated 14.12.2011 and 21.12.2011, respectively.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents had submitted that there is a process for selecting Helpers to be appointed in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Generation and Distribution Corporation. While calling for applicants, for being selected to the post of Helper in the respondent Corporation, certain qualifications are prescribed to be considered for such post. Further, paper publication would be effected and names would be called for, from the Employment Exchanges concerned. While so, the petitioners cannot claim that they should be appointed, as Helpers, in the respondent Corporation, as a matter of right, even though they have completed their apprenticeship course in the respondent Board.

4. In view of the said submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court is of the considered view that the relief prayed for by the petitioners in the above Writ Petitions cannot be granted. Hence, the Writ Petitions stand dismissed. No costs.
