.. Respondent Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondent to produce the body of the detenu, viz., Senthilvelan, aged about 39 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN,J) The petitioner is the wife of Senthilvelan, aged about 39 years. The said Senthilvelan (hereinafter referred to as the "detenu") was found missing from 26.04.2015 onwards. In this regard, the petitioner had lodged a complaint to the respondent police, on 01.05.2015, in connection with which, a case in Crime No.635 of 2015, for ''Man Missing'', has been registered by the respondent police. However, no steps have been taken by the respondent police to trace the detenu. Hence, the petitioner has preferred this Habeas Corpus Petition praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondent police to produce the detenu, viz., Senthilvelan, aged about 39 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. At this stage of hearing of the Habeas Corpus Petition, Mr.V.M.R.Rajentren, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent, on instructions, had submitted https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

that, based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, investigation has been done, to trace the detenu. He had further submitted that all necessary steps will be taken to trace the detenu.

3.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent, we find that no further orders are necessary in the present Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. However, it is made clear that the respondent police shall continue the investigation to trace the missing detenu and to take necessary steps, in accordance with law.
