ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed for a direction to first respondent to issue Passport to petitioner by considering his application dated 20.01.2026.

2. Petitioner is a member of National political party. Petitioner submitted an application dated 20.01.2026 before first respondent for issuance of passport. Petitioner received a letter from first respondent seeking clarification with regard to a case in Crime No.319 of 2023 registered by second respondent against petitioner. Petitioner offered his explanations in person regarding the case and also sent explanation to first respondent. However, the said application is still pending.

3. At the outset, learned counsel for first respondent would submit that notice calling upon the petitioner to appear today was issued. However, learned counsel for petitioner would submit that no such notice was received.

4. In that view of the matter, this Court directs petitioner to appear before first respondent on 30.06.2026 at 11.30 am and put forth its explanation. First respondent shall thereafter proceed to consider petitioner's application dated 20.01.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereon. It is made clear that this Court has

not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case.

5. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
