Earlier, this Court by an order dated 17.06.2022 disposed of the above Criminal Original Petition and transferred the investigation to the Inspector of Police, CBCID, Chennai along with a direction directing them to complete the investigation within a period of six months from the date of that order. Since the said investigation could not be completed within the time stipulated by this court, the petitioner police herein sought for extension of time.

2. Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, both learned counsel for petitioner as well as respondents appeared. The learned counsel for petitioner would submit that almost they have completed the investigation and for filing a final report, they have to complete some necessary formalities. Hence, he prayed to extend the time granted by this court.

3. Considering the request made by the petitioner police herein, this Court is inclined to extend time for the period of two months to submit final report from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
