ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This contempt petition has been filed alleging willful disobedience of the order dated 25.03.2025 passed by this Court in a batch of writ appeals. The direction issued by this Court was as under: "26. In the circumstances, we feel that while

retaining the back wages paid, it will be in the interest of Justice to direct regularization of these employees from the date of the award with continuity of service. It is made clear that the employees will not be entitled to any monetary benefits till today. The University will regularize the services of the employees as permanent workers notionally with effect from the date of the award with continuity of service within a period of eight (8) weeks from today. We are sure that the Government will accord necessary sanction for the posts which are required to be created by virtue of this order. It is made clear that 17B wages paid to the employees will not be recovered."

2. It appears that aggrieved by the order passed by this Court, the University filed SLP before the Supreme Court, which eventually came to be dismissed on 28.05.2025. A copy of that order is also placed before us for perusal.

3. Now that the order of this Court has attained finality, the first respondent shall do well to comply with the order of this Court within a period of eight weeks from today, in terms of the direction which has been issued by this Court in the batch of writ appeals, reproduced as hereinabove.
