2. This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the petitioner, who is the husband of the detenue, namely, Smt.Sangeetha, aged 28 years, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a direction to the first respondent to produce the detenue before this Court and set her at liberty. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. It has been stated that the petitioner had married the detenue and they had been living together, in their native village, along with their children. It has been stated that due to a family dispute between the petitioner and respondents 2 to 7, a complaint had been lodged before the All Women Police Station, Virudhachalam, Cuddalore District, on 7.9.2015. Thereafter, respondents 2 to 7 had abducted the detenue, the wife of the petitioner, in order to wreak vengeance against the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has given a police compliant before the Veppur All Women Police Station, Cuddalore district, which has been registered, in Crime No.47 of 2016, as a woman-missing case.
4. At this stage of the hearing of the habeas corpus petition, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the first respondent had submitted, on instructions, that the detenue had eloped with the second respondent. However, necessary steps are being taken to trace the detenue.
5. In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, we are of the view that no further orders are necessary in this habeas corpus petition. Hence, this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
