This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 not to harass the petitioners under the guise of enquiry.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner's sister-in-law, Vimala, was appointed on compassionate grounds following the death of the petitioner's brother, Muthukrishnan, due to cancer. She is presently employed in the Police Department and is serving at Pennadam Police Station. For the treatment of the petitioner's brother, the petitioner had availed a loan of Rs.6,00,000/-, which was agreed to be repaid by the said Vimala. However, after securing employment, she neither repaid the loan nor took care of the petitioner's father, who is an aged person. 2.1. On the other hand, the said Vimala has lodged a false complaint alleging that the petitioner had borrowed money from her and had failed to redeem the jewels pledged for the construction of their house. Consequently, the petitioner has been unnecessarily harassed. 2/4

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the 3rd respondent had initially received a current paper, which was subsequently converted into C.S.R.No.680 of 2026 and the enquiry is pending. It was further submitted that the enquiry would be concluded within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner, if required, would be called by way of summons.

4. Recording the above submission of the learned Government Advocate, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to complete the enquiry within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner, if required, shall be called only by way of summons.
