extent of 10162 square feet in S.No.108 (as per records of Salem Municipality, Ward-A Block-21, T.S.No.28 and as per Salem Municipal Corporation, WardH, Block-21, T.S.No.46, 49) in favour of the petitioner and his co-sharers after survey and subdivision of the land.

ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.03.2026.
2. The petitioner submits that he preferred a representation dated 28.03.2026, seeking the issuance of a patta in favour of himself and his cosharers. The request pertains to land measuring 10,162 square feet, comprised in S.No.108. According to the records of the Salem Municipality, this property is identified as Ward-A, Block-21, T.S.No.28, and as per the Salem Municipal Corporation records, it is identified as Ward-H, Block-21, T.S.No.46 and 49. The petitioner sought the patta following a formal survey and sub-division of
the said land. However, the said representation has not been considered by the respondents till date. Aggrieved by this inaction, the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court.
3. The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the 3rd respondent is the authority competent to pass orders on the petitioner's representation.
4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the third respondent / Tahsildar, Salem Taluk, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as any other interested parties / co-sharers, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
