The petitioner herein, who is an accused in Crime No.238 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police arrested on 19.05.2025 for the offence under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(C), 29(1), 25, 27A of Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, seeks bail.
2. According to the petitioner, Police arrested him on 19.05.2025 for 1/3
alleged possession of 4 kgs of ganja and it being an intermediate quantity, petitioner may be released on bail and he is ready to abide by any condition.
3. The learned Government Advocate(Cr.Side) filed a detailed counter stating that based on specific information, two persons in an Auto were intercepted on 18.05.2025 at about 15 hrs and from their possession, 4 kgs of ganja was recovered and based on their confession statement, house premises of one Karthick/A6 was searched and totally 80 kgs of ganja were seized from seven accused persons and two other accused who supplied it to A6 are still absconding.
4. Considering the quantity of the contraband seized and the investigation is not yet completed, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this juncture.
5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 19.08.2025 sma 2/3
