Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to upload her certificates and to participate in the recruitment procedure to the post of Assistant Tourist Officer, Grade-II included in Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service 2018-2019, dated 22.07.2019 in accordance with the recruitment rules.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to upload her certificates and to participate in the recruitment procedure to the post of Assistant Tourist Officer, Grade-II in accordance with the recruitment rules.

2. The petitioner applied to the post of Assistant Tourist Officer, Grade-II and had cleared the written examination successfully. However she did not receive the mail calling him for certificate verification and she could not produce the certificates for verification within time. Hence the petitioner had filed this petition seeking direction to the respondent to permit him to upload the certificates and participate in the recruitment procedure.

3. According to the petitioner, due to Covid pandemic she stayed in a remote area and there was no internet connection. The petitioner was able to see her mail only on 18.12.2020, though the mail was sent by the respondents on 23.10.2020.

4. Since the petitioner appeared for written examination, she ought to have checked her mail at some place where the internet is accessible. If the

petitioner's request is granted, it will open flood gates for several such petitions being filed before the Court and there will not be any finality for the recruitment process.

5. Since there is no fault on the part of the respondent and it is the petitioner who had placed herself in a position that she could not open her mail, nothing can be done at this relevant point of time.

6. In the result, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
