In a proposed suit seeking relief in respect of alleged copyright infringement, this application is filed for leave to institute the suit against the respondent before this Court. Learned counsel for the applicant states that the defendant carries on business in Chennai as evidenced by the document at page 253 of the typed set of papers. He further states that this application was filed by way of abundant caution.

2. Upon examining the draft plaint and considering the above submissions, at least a part of the cause of action has arisen within the jurisdiction of this Court and the defendant also carries on business within the jurisdiction of this Court. Accordingly, A.No.3679 of 2022 is allowed by granting leave to the applicant to institute the suit against the respondent before this Court. As a consequence, the Registry is directed to number the suit, if it is otherwise in order.
