ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus for directing the respondents to renew and re-issue the passport to the petitioner.
2. Heard Mr.M.Manimaran, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.Jaisha, learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the first respondent and Mr.Leonard Arul Joseph Selvam, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for respondents 2 and 3.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for respondents 2 and 3 submits that a FIR came to be registered against the petitioner in Crime No.130 of 2014 for offences under Sections 279 and 304A IPC. Investigation has been completed and police report has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate, Uthukkottai, which is yet to be taken on file. 2/5
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that there is no criminal case pending against the petitioner as on date since the police report is yet to be acted upon, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner dated 14.05.2025 for renewal / re-issuance of passport, if the petitioner satisfies all other requirements, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
