ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Hosur, to expedite the
trial in C.C.No.150 of 2025 and dispose of the same within a stipulated time frame.
2. The prayer sought for in this Criminal Original Petition is innocuous in nature, and as such, this petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself, without ordering notice to the second respondent.
3. In considering the prayer for speedy disposal, this Court takes cognizance of the following facts and circumstances:- a. The petitioner is a visually impaired person, working as a Graduate English Teacher.
b. The First Information Report (FIR) was registered as early as on 02.05.2024 and the case was subsequently taken on file by the Trial Court in the year 2025.
4. The learned counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that there are four witnesses in total to be examined by the prosecution. He further submitted that the second respondent/accused is employed as a school headmaster.
5. Taking into consideration the submission made by the learned counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side), the learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate No.I, Hosur, is directed to expedite the trial in C.C.No.150 of 2025 and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than six (6) months from the date of receipt of a webcopy of this order. Further, the first respondent/Police is directed to ensure that the service of summons on all the remaining witnesses is completed before the next scheduled hearing date to facilitate seamless trial proceedings.
6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
