ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to the 2nd respondent is dispensed with.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal petition dated 02.04.2025 and to consequently direct the 1st respondent to restore the patta which stood in the name of petitioner and her sisters viz., Pathamma and Lakshmamma, in respect of the land comprised in Survey Nos.220/4, 220/5 and 220/6, measuring an extent of 0.35 acres, 0.67 acres and 1.16 acres, situated at Attakurukki Village, Shoolagiri Taluk, Krishnagiri District.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the appeal was preferred against the order dated 04.02.2025, whereby the Sub Collector, Krishnagiri vide proceedings in Pa.Mu.4908/2023/B1 had cancelled the patta which stood in the name of the petitioner and her sisters, Pathamma and Lakshmamma. Aggrieved, petitioner preferred an appeal before the 1st respondent on 02.04.2025. However, the same is stated to be pending. 2/4

Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that the petitioner's appeal dated 02.04.2025 would be disposed of within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5. In view there of, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 02.04.2025 within a period of 12 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy, after affording the petitioner, 2nd respondent and any other interested parties a reasonable opportunity of hearing. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
