ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

2. The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to extend the service of the petitioner on re-employment as P.G. Assistant (Economics) in

the third respondent school till 31.05.2017 with all consequential attendant benefits.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Secondary Grade Assistant on 13.08.1982 in the third respondent school, which is a Government aided school. On 09.06.1997, he was promoted to the post of P.G. Assistant and posted in the same school. He was due to retire on 30.06.2016. While so, he made a representation dated 20.06.2016 to the respondents seeking to confer re-employment to him till the next academic year i.e., from 01.07.2016 to 31.05.2017. However, the said representation has not been considered by the respondents and the petitioner retired from service on 30.06.2016. Even after retirement, he made another representation dated 14.07.2016 to respondents 1 and 2 seeking re-employment till the next academic year and the same is pending. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court with the present writ petition.

4. Heard Mr.P.Ganesan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Venkatesh, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without expressing any opinion with regard to the claim made by the petitioner, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
