This petition is filed to enlarge the petitioner on bail in Crime No.40 of 2023 pending investigation on the file of the respondent Police. 2.It is the submission of learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is falsely implicated as accused in Cr.No.40 of 2023 for the offences under Section 4(1-A), 4(1) (aaa) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act. He is in judicial custody from 07.06.2023. Thus, this petition is filed for seeking bail.

3.In response, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on 07.06.2023, at about 05.30 a.m., the respondent Police while engaging in surveillance against the illicit liquor offenders found near Moolakadu check post, on seeing the Police, the petitioner tried to escape. He was apprehended and found that he was in possession of two lorry tubes each containing 55 litres of illicit liquor. The illicit liquor with lorry tubes had been recovered. It is his further submission that petitioner has six similar previous cases pending against him.

4.Considered the rival submissions and perused the records. 5.Considering the large volume of illicit liquor said to have been seized from the petitioner, that he has six similar previous cases pending and that investigation in this case is not completed, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
