ORDER

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 148, 450, 1/4

388 and 506(ii) of IPC in Crime No.1852 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the co-accused had already been arrested and thereafter, they have been released on bail and therefore, prays for anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted the petitioner, the 1st accused in the case, is the prime accused and along with other accused trespassed into the house of the defacto complainant and had committed theft of a car bearing Registration No.TN-22-DH-6771 which belongs to the de-facto complainant from his house under threat and criminal intimidation. The said vehicle is yet to be recovered. Because of the abscondence of the 1st accused, the vehicle could not be recovered and investigation could not be progressed.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of the offence alleged against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/4
