ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to dispose the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 09.03.2026 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 19.01.2026, enclosing all relevant documents, and requested the 4th respondent to grant a full field patta in the name of his wife, Chitra. Though the said representation was received by the 4th respondent, the same was not considered. Hence, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the 2nd respondent, requesting them to direct appropriate action to the 4th respondent for the transfer of the full field patta. Till date, the same has not been disposed of by the 2nd respondent. Challenging the inaction on the part of the respondents, the present Writ Petition filed.

3. The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the 3rd respondent is the authority competent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by both sides, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent (Revenue Divisional Officer, Thiruvallur District) to consider the appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 09.03.2026. The third respondent shall pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with the law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
