(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 4(1) (aaa), 4(1-A) and 14-A of Tamilnadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.828 of 2017 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The allegation is that the petitioner had illegally transported 120 litres of I.D arrack in a white plastic gunny bag. This case was registered in the year 2017.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the petitioner is a regular offender and he has already nine cases pending against him. In all the nine cases, investigation is pending and the final report has not yet been filed in those cases.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the petitioner is a regular offender and the cases pending against the petitioner are still under investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
