[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to produce Sushmitha, D/o.Pandiselvam, aged 20 years before this Court and hand over her custody to the petitioner and set her at liberty.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that he was in love with one Sushmitha and against the wishes of her parents, he married her on 10.09.2021. Thereafter, it is alleged that his wife went missing from 27.09.2021. Since police are not taking effective steps to secure his wife, the petitioner has filed the present petition.
3. Today, Mr.M.Vasagaraj, Sub-Inspector of Police, R-10 MGR Nagar Police Station, is present. The police produced Sushmitha https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
and the petitioner before us.
4. When we enquired, Sushmitha stated that her date of birth is 24.06.2001 and that she has completed B.Tech (IT); fell in love with the petitioner; got married to him on 10.09.2021 and thereafter, her parents had forcibly taken her to their house. She further stated that on 02.11.2021, she escaped from her parents' house and joined the petitioner and now, both of them are living at No.2/64, Maariamman Kovil Street, Thovathanampettai, Gingee, Villupuram.
5. In the aforestated circumstances, nothing survives for further adjudication in the present petition. Accordingly, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CS V) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar gm To
