Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to disburse the leave encashment benefits to the petitioner which he is entitled for the periods of 11/2018 and 11/2019 with interest at the rate of 8% per annum from the said date of entitlement to till the date of actual disbursement within a time limit as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for Mandamus to direct the respondents to disburse the leave encashment benefits with interest at the rate of 8% per annum from the date of entitlement to till the date of actual disbursement within a stipulated time.
2. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is entitled for leave encashment salary and that the liability of the respondents was admitted by way of RTI reply.
3. However, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that the respondents are not in a position to confirm that the reply was issued by the respondents. The learned Standing Counsel would fairly submit that they would pay eligible amount to the petitioner within a reasonable time.
4.Heard the learned counsel on either sides and perused the materials available on record.

5.In such view of the fair submission, without going in to the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to settle the eligible amount of the petitioner according to his service register, within a period of six (6) weeks with applicable interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of retirement till the date of disposal.
6. With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
