With the consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.07.2024 and cause mutation of revenue records in respect of land of an extent of 56 sq.mts. in Survey No.136/39, Palayanur Valasai Village, Tiruvannamalai Taluk and District and carry out the same in the Village Accounts.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the entire materials available on record.
4. The case of the petitioner is that she is a destitute woman of Palayanur Valasai Village, Tiruvannamalai. The petitioner has no property and Page 2/5
hence she was allotted a residential plot of 56 sq.mts. in Survey No.136/39, classified as Grama Natham on 11.09.1993 and patta has also been granted to her. Due to illiteracy, the petitioner has not applied for any reclassification of the land after issuance of the patta and the land still shown as Government Poramboke in the village accounts. In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent requesting mutation of the Village Accounts and issuance of chitta and adangal. But no action has been taken by the respondents till date. Hence, the present writ petition.
5. Considering the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.07.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
