O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is to call for records in the notification issued by the 1st respondent in Advertisement No.4/2019 dated 06.07.2019 and quash the same and to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners' right under ex-land owners for appointment of posts in the first respondent department.

2. The case of the petitioners is that their lands were acquired for the purpose of establishment of the 1st respondent university and research centre. On 30.01.2018, after land acquisition proceedings, lands were taken from the petitioners. The 1st respondent by letter dated 12.06.2018, has given undertaking that priority will be given to the Ex-land owners and their Kith and Kin and the same was confirmed by the 3rd respondent by letter dated 06.10.2018. While that being so, contrary to the undertaking given by him, the 1st respondent issued notification calling for the applications for filling up various posts. Challenging the said notification, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. Mrs.A.Sri Jeyanthi, learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that it is a general notification issued by the authority. If the petitioners make application along with necessary documents, it will be considered by the 1st respondent in the light of the letters dated 12.06.2018 and 06.10.2018.

4. In view of the above, I am inclined to issue a direction to the petitioners to make applications with necessary documents, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if any applications are received from the petitioners, the 1st respondent shall pass appropriate orders as per undertaking given by him in letters dated 12.06.2018 and 06.10.2018.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are also closed.
