Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to pass a considered order on the application given by the petitioner on 25.06.2016 and consequential relief by way of direction directing the respondent to issue a patta in favour of the petitioner namely C.Nagaraj, pertaining to petitioner's property situated at Kanchipuram District, Thiruporur Taluk, Thiruporur Sub Registration District, Kayar Village, Punja land comprised in S.No.1085, measuring an extent of 4 acres and 19 cents.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
The petitioner claims to be the absolute owner of the Punja land, admeasuring to an extent of 5 hectares or 4 acres and 19 cents, comprised in S.No.1085. Originally, patta was issued in favour of his father, viz., [Late] Chandrasekar, in Patta No.302, dated 11.11.2015 and he died intestate and his wife, daughter and sons which include the petitioner herein, had succeeded to the estate and subsequently, a registered Release Deed was executed by the other legal heirs on 18.11.2015 bearing Document No.14276/2015, registered on the file of the Sub Registrar, Thiruporur and as such, the petitioner became the exclusive owner of the said property. The petitioner has also filed an application dated 25.06.2016 to the respondent praying https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
for issuance of patta and though it was received and acknowledged, no orders have been passed and hence, he came forward to file the present writ petition.
Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 25.06.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
