O R D E R

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 498(A), 506(1) of IPC & 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 in Crime No.11 of 2020, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner developed a love affair with the de-facto complainant while she was working in the Axis Bank and the petitioner employed in TCS. Thereafter, they developed love for the purpose of marriage, the petitioner induced the de-facto complainant and grabbed a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs only) from the de-facto complainant and subsequently the marriage was performed on 04.11.2018 at Marudeeswarar Temple without consent of their parents. In the said event, they had taken photographs through cell phones. Thereafter, the petitioner's family demanded more dowry from the de-facto complainant for allowing the matrimonial home. Hence, the law enforcing agency registered a complaint against the petitioner. 2/4

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the gravity of the offence and the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
