Side) for R2 Order This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the 1st Respondent to consider the petitioner's application for reissue of passport (K5957724) in file reference No 26-1060156835 dated 01.06.2026, which is pending before the 1st Respondent, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
2. It is submitted by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the second respondent that there are criminal complaints pending against the petitioner.
3. However, it is learnt that they are only in the stage of FIR. Thus, it may not be an absolute bar for issuing passport to the petitioner in terms of Section 6 of the Passport Act.
4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. The first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application for reissue of passport and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading the web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views
with regard to the merits of the application and it is open to the first respondent to consider the application on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
