This petition has been filed to direct the first respondent / Management to pay the petitioner's last drawn salary of Rs.30,871/- every month from the date of the order i.e. 16.12.2022 onwards as a relief akin to the one under Section 17-B of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. 2.
M/s.K.Bharathi, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that similarly placed employees, who have been working in the first respondent's Management and who have been dismissed and whose dismissal has been disapproved by the first respondent have already obtained an order for 17-B wages to be paid by the first respondent during the pendency of the Writ Petition.

Attention was drawn to the earlier order passed by this Court in W.M.P.No.11371 of 2024 in W.P.No.8970 of 2024 wherein this Court has granted the following relief in respect of the petitioner therein. "9. Taking into consideration that the petitioner/second respondent himself sought for payment of 17B wages from 16.12.2022, the first respondent Management/petitioner is 1/4
directed to pay the last drawn wages to the petitioner/second respondent from 16.12.2022 and continue to pay the same until disposal of the writ petition. It is also further directed that arrear shall be paid within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order."

Since the petitioner is also a similarly placed employee of the very same Management, I feel it is appropriate to allow 17-B wages in the same lines till the disposal of the Writ Petition. 5.
However, the learned counsel for the first respondent submitted that the settlement has been made in some of the similarly placed employees and hence, there is likelihood to settle the petitioner's case as well. 6.
In such case, the parties can work out the possibility for settlement and report the same within a period of two weeks. Till such time, the first respondent is directed to pay the 17-B wages to the petitioner, pending the writ proceedings.

This petition is ordered accordingly.
