PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondents to produce the petitioner's husband Prakash Raj, S/o.Velmurugan, aged about 24 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

For Petitioner : Mr.S.N.Subramani For Respondents : Mr.E.Raj Thilak Additional Public Prosecutor for R1 and R2

ORDER

(Order of this Court was made by M.S.RAMESH.J,) When the petitioner's husband went missing on 13.05.2025, she had given a complaint on 24.05.2025 to the respondents, which was registered in Crime No.121 of 2025 under the caption "man missing". Since there was no progress in the investigation to trace the petitioner's husband, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint preferred by the petitioner has been registered in Crime No.121 of 2025 as 'man missing' and that the second respondent police is proceeding with the complaint to locate the petitioner's husband.

3. Since the second respondent had registered the petitioner's complaint and is in the process of proceeding with the complaint, we deem it fit to direct the second respondent to expedite the complaint and file a final report.

4. In view of this decision, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the second respondent herein to expedite the complaint in Crime No.121 of 2025 and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.

5. In view of the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
