This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking protection from police harassment.

According to the petitioner, on a complaint given by one Iyyappan, registered by the respondent police in C.S.R.No.31 of 2024, he 1/4
is frequently called in spite of his cooperation with the investigation. 3.
The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that for further interrogation, summons been issued to the petitioner to appear before the Investigating Officer on 01.07.2024, but the petitioner did not appear in response to the summon. 4.
This Court is of the view that the petitioner has to cooperate with the investigation, at the same time, the police under the guise of investigation should not harass him or threaten with dire consequence and did not accede to the demand of the defacto complainant. They have to investigate the matter in accordance with law and proceed. 5.
With this observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. The petitioner shall appear before the Investigating Officer on receipt of fresh summons.
