This petition is filed to enlarge the petitioner on bail in Crime No.608 of 2023 on the file of the respondent.
2.It is the submission of learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is falsely implicated as accused in Cr.No.608 of 2023 for the offences under Section 4 (1) (a) and 4 (1-A) of TNP Act. He is in judicial custody from 12.07.2023. Thus, this petition is filed for seeking bail. 3.In response, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that petitioner was found in illegal possession of 20 bottles of Black Pearl Brandy, each 180 ml on 12.07.2023, at about 07.00 a.m near the house of the petitioner, close to Periyathanda Bus stop. The liquor was seized. He further submitted that petitioner is involved in forty-seven previous cases similar in nature. More than eight cases are still pending and remaining cases ended in conviction.

5.Considering the fact that petitioner is involved in forty-seven cases, similar in nature and most of the cases ended in conviction and that he appears to be regular and habitual offender under prohibition act and that investigation in this case is not completed, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
