O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing respondents 2 and 3 to issue a family card to the petitioner, based on the application dated 22.12.2015, given by the petitioner within a stipulated period of time.

2. Today, when the case is called, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner is absent and there is no representation on behalf of him, but the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents is present.

3. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioner has approached respondents 2 and 3 to issue new family card in the names of the petitioner, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

his wife and his children, but respondents 2 and 3 neither issued the new family card nor return the application submitted by the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has also submitted an application, dated 22.12.2015, before respondents 2 and 3, however, the same did not yield any fruitful result. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court, by way of this writ petition.

4. This Court has carefully perused the materials available on record.

5. Since the prayer sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition is only for a direction to respondents 2 and 3 to issue a family card to the petitioner, based on the application dated 22.12.2015, given by the petitioner, this Court is of the considered view that such a direction shall be granted. Therefore, respondents 2 and 3 are hereby directed to consider and pass orders on the application, dated 22.12.2015, submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
